New Beginnings and I'm Back!

So it has been well over three months since my last blog. The reason for the gap in blogs is that Dave and I moved to Medford, Oregon at the end of the summer in August.  It took us three weeks to get settled in with the help of my awesome parents, who live conveniently nearby in northern California.  We couldn't have done the move without the help and support of all of our incredible friends and family, especially our friends Rosalynn and Jeff who helped us move all of our cherished possessions one state over.

We managed to find the perfect house to rent in a nice quite neighborhood. There was a little bit of stress involved in our hunt for a place to live and we were truly blessed to come across this listing.  I still have a few more boxes left to unpack but for the most part we are nicely moved in.

I'm so proud of my new job as I feel I am moving back to my marketing roots as a career choice (which is what I have a degree in).  Working in the accounting industry had it's perks but I'm so ecstatic to be able to travel this coming spring.  This will be my first time to truly enjoy spring (which is my favorite season) in about eight years!  I miss my previous employers and coworkers dearly but am excited for new beginnings.

Being able to witness the change in seasons has been one of my favorite things about the move so far.  The colors are so vivid and the air is so nice and crisp.  I do however miss seeing palm trees on a daily basis. This picture was taken at the beautiful Lithia Park, located in Ashland, Oregon.

We were so stoked to find a fantastic 1950's themed diner as well as a rockabilly music venue located here in town.  The house band are The Sleazetones. They are a local surf rock band which includes the owner of the bar Johnny B himself.  We look forward to attending shows here and found out that Hard Fall Hearts will be playing a show here in a few weeks.  If you are interested in booking a show contact the venue through their Facebook page or let me know and I'll see what I can do to help as well.

Moving to southern Oregon means that I am just over a two hour drive away from my sister and her family.  This means I get to spend much more time with my cutie pie niece Paige.  We have already seen her on a handful of occasions and I think she is actually starting to remember me.

Overall we are happy with the way things are playing out for our new lives up here. We do miss so many aspects of living in southern California and we will be back to visit several occasions next year.  We are missing our friends so much but know that this move will be productive for the two of us.  Looking forward to see where the journey continues to take us.

Till' Next Time,

Suz

P.S.  I was asked to write a blog for Dwellable.com.  Please follow the link below if you would like to read about Dave and my north shore drive while we were on our honeymoon in Oahu, HI.
