Bridal Shower/Bachlorette Party

I have put off writing my blog about my bridal shower and bachlorette party as I don't feel I could correctly express my gratitude of how this day turned out.  In the beginning I had asked that I keep my hands clean of any planning.  So therefore everything that went on that day was a complete surprise.  My sister and mom hosted the bridal shower at a lovely Victorian house they rented through Airbnb.com.  Sadly I don't have a picture of the front of the house.  They drove all the way from Northern California bringing my great aunt's tea set with matching silverware, and other related decor.

Great Aunt Lucille's tea set.

The weather was perfect!  Even after a morning of light showers.  My amazing friends assembled to partake in what turned out to to be a truly lovely day.

Here I am with my Grandma Peggy.

Me, my mom and sister (the hosts).

After some good conversation and good food (the kous kous was definitely the highlight) I opened some wonderful gifts.  The first being a dish set from my grandma which she received at her bridal shower nearly 65 years ago.  What a loving gift!

My friend Karla gave me this wonderful framed picture from our engagement photo shoot.  The frame is an up cycled vintage window frame.  Can't wait to find a good perch for this in our home.

I love this wonderful Irish themed platter from my friend Lindsay.  It says "May your house to be too small to fill it with your friends".

Me with my "bow-quet".

Me and the moms!

A couple hours after the bridal shower was over we all piled into a van (that was provided by my friends Alisha and Lindsay who planned the bachlorette portion of the evening) and proceeded onto Wine Steals for appetizers and drinks.  My favorite part of the evening was when my friends each stood up and told a story about how we met or memories of me telling them about when I first met Dave.

One of my friends told me that one of the worker's asked if the bachlorette party was "Bettie Page" themed.  Too funny!  That says a lot about how beautiful my gal pals are!

We played a cute trivia game with answers provided by Dave.  One answer even made me tear up.  After the game we then piled back into the van and headed into downtown San Diego.

We had a few drinks at Club Altitude which is on top of the Marriott Hotel in the Gaslamp district.  It has a fantastic view of the city.

We drove onto Clairmont to see one of my favorite local Irish Rock bands play, The Fooks.  Sadly this plan didn't follow through as the bar was packed due an on going charity event that had started earlier in the day. We ended up at a bar from my early San Diego stomping grounds, The Little Club located in Coronado.  It was a nice way to end the evening full circle.

I must say I feel like I truly have the best group of friends around me.  We had no drama that night; not that I would expect that from my friends.  It was truly a wonderful day and evening.  I want to do it again!!

Funny picture of a funny bride!

Just a few more days to go until the wedding!

Till' Next Time,
