My Brooch Collection

A few weeks ago I came across this wall board at a thrift store and knew it was a good buy, not just because it was only $1.50, but because it would make for an excellent display for my brooch collection.  Previously I had my brooches stored in a drawer in my vanity, in various train cases throughout my house, and I'd forget to add them to an outfit as they were hidden when I was getting ready.  I've already noticed how much of a change having them visible contributes to me piecing together an outfit.

These are some of my favorite brooches.  Several of these were given to me by my grandma. She had the luck of coming across them a her church rummage sale.

I found this enameled pin at an estate sale sometime last year.  I've worn it most recently on Independence Day due to is red, white, and blue colors.

This confetti brooch was an EBay purchase.  I think I paid, $4 for it.

I found this Christmas tree pin at the Long Beach Antiques store.  I think I paid $2 for it as it was on clearance.  I can't wait to wear it this year.

This was an estate sale find.  I think I paid $0.25 for it.  Elephants are my favorite animals.

The next three pins are all from that same rummage sale my grandma attended as mentioned above.  I think the telephone is my all time favorite brooch set.

What are some of your collections?

Till' Next Time,

Suz

  1. I totally know what you mean about how having things in front of you changes things! I'm the same way! I must have things at the ready and visible.

What a delightful way to organize, store and display! I adore the pie brooch!!

  2. Wow that telephone brooch is awesome! Love the color and pearl center. I've been having my jewelry box open so I can be reminded of what I have otherwise I won't use them.
